About pomodig

pomodig is a free web app that puts a Pomodoro timer and ambient sound on the same screen. Open the page and you can start a 25-minute focus session straight away — everything that does not help with that has been left out.

Why it exists

Getting ready to focus usually takes more steps than it should. You open a timer app, then go hunting for a rain track on a music service or a video site, and somewhere along the way a notification or a recommended video pulls you off course before you have started.

pomodig was built to cut that down to one click. The timer and the background sound live on the same page, and there is nothing to install and no account to create.

What you can do with it

  • Run the classic 25/5/15 Pomodoro cycle, or set your own lengths
  • Open ready-made presets such as 50 minutes on, 10 minutes off
  • Mix white, pink and brown noise with rain, fireplace, cafe and ocean sounds
  • Keep an accurate countdown in a background tab, with the time left shown in the tab title
  • Install it to your home screen or desktop and keep using the timer offline
  • Read blog posts on focus, breaks, background noise and study routines

How it is run

No accounts, no data collection

There is no sign-up and no server-side database. Your timer lengths, volume levels and theme are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. The privacy policy covers this in detail.

Small and fast on purpose

A timer should respond the instant you press it. The site uses no heavy framework and is served as pre-built static files. The noise generators run in your browser rather than downloading audio, and the nature recordings only load the first time you switch one on.

Ads stay away from the controls

pomodig is free, and Google AdSense ads pay for hosting and development time. Ad units are placed well clear of the start button, the mode tabs and the volume sliders, so nobody taps an ad by mistake in the middle of a session.

Only properly licensed audio

Every recording in the mixer is cleared for commercial use, and the source and licence of each one are listed on the sound credits page.

How the blog is written

The blog covers things that help you get more out of a timer: where the Pomodoro Technique came from and how people adapt it, what to do with a break, and what research actually says about noise and concentration.

Where the evidence is mixed, the posts say so. You will not find claims that a particular sound rewires your brainwaves or works for everyone. People focus differently, so the aim is to give you approaches you can try and judge for yourself.

Available in English and Korean

pomodig runs in two languages. The English pages are written for English-speaking readers rather than translated line by line from Korean. Use the language link at the top right to jump to the same page in the other language.

Who runs it, and how to get in touch

Install it like an app

Once installed it opens full screen with no address bar, and the timer keeps running offline.
